Three reasons my nucleus colonies and queens are unique:

1. I do not migrate my bees. Queens are raised from winter survivors in Iowa and I have lower exposure risk to pests and diseases.
2. I select genetics based on gentleness and Varroa Sensitive Hygiene. I do a mite wash on every colony in the spring and do not sell anything above the threshold.
3. You get 5 deep combs with 3 or 4 frames of brood. You get a colony that is ready to be moved into your 8 or 10 frame hives.

I sell my nucs for $200 and queens for $40. I have customers who believe I could charge more. I think you are getting a good deal.
